Sony Pictures Belgium is the exclusive distributor for theatrical releases of Sony Pictures, Paramount and Universal Pictures.
I was extremely lucky to consider Sony Pictures Belgium one of my first assignments as a freelancer.
They contacted me in Q1’18 and needed some help for their marketing department due to a colleague being absent over a longer period.
They needed someone with the necessary background in entertainment, ideally theatrical releases and someone who understood their consumers and their consumer journey. Furthermore, they needed help in optimising the collaboration with their media agency, challenging them to go the extra mile.
I came on board in May ’18 and supported all marketing activities for Universal Pictures. From budget management, agency briefing, to creative assets selection, translating assets, campaign follow-ups, working with the international teams and partner agencies, I supported the releases for some of the biggest movie franchises such as Jurassic World, How to Train Your Dragon, Johnny English, Mamma Mia!, Secret Life of Pets, The Purge, Fast and the Furious, to name a few and other successes such as BlacKkKlansman, Jordan Peele’s US and First Man.
Later on the mission I also helped training new marketing members to introduce them to media and how to shape a marketing plan for theatrical releases.
